About

Sarah’s Food Drive is a grassroots, community-based fundraising initiative started by Sarah Jordan and her sister, Claire. Over the years, it has grown to involve local schools, students, local businesses and corporate donors.

Sarah’s Food Drive aims to raise much needed food and funds for the Daily Bread Food Bank and, starting in 2015, the Regent Park Community Food Centre.

Daily Bread Food Bank is a registered charity that is fighting hunger in our communities. A distribution hub, Daily Bread provides food and support to almost 200 food programs across Toronto. Daily Bread also works towards long-term solutions to hunger and runs innovative programs to support people on low incomes including an information and referral services program that trains member agencies to support food bank clients by connecting them to community resources.

The Regent Park Community Food Centre is a partnership between CRC and Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC), a national organization that’s driving the development of Community Food Centres across the country.

The drive runs in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, as this was the time of year that Sarah got the idea to start her food drive.
